Expired Weekly Practice Group (Online) Single, Quarterly, Yearly.

The Weekly Practice Group is a beautifully connected environment where we gather together to learn, share, and practice the wisdom of Nonviolent Communication.

The purpose of this group is to support you to integrate the NVC skills you have learnt at a Foundation Training, and more advanced trainings, into your life and all of your everyday relationships.

This practice is for those who have attended the equivalent of a 2 Day NVC Foundation Training* or beyond, and is a weekly group with highly experienced trainers, and structured support. It is conducted on-line live, over zoom, with a specific topic each week. Each evening is stand alone and not dependent upon you attending previous practice group evenings.

What can you get out of it?

  • Connect to the preciousness of your own feelings and needs.
  • Learn to balance your own feelings and needs with those of loved ones.
  • Build your confidence to express honestly and give empathetically in the real world.

What do we do?

The two-hour session is organised around a weekly theme, such as “Giving Empathy”, “Reducing Stress” or “Boundaries that Support Connection”.

A typical evening has several parts:

  1. Check-in – share how we’re all feeling as we begin the class.
  2. Teaching – Sharon offers key insights on the theme based on nearly 20 years of NVC experience.
  3. Honesty/empathy exercises and role plays in pairs or small groups which develop our understanding of the theme.
  4. Discuss insights from the exercises with the whole class.
  5. Check-out – share our most valuable lessons from the evening.

Weekly Practice Group Trainers

Our main trainer hosting this regular practice group is Sharon Rallings.

Sharon has been actively involved in NVC for over 17 years and has been a mentor in the Communication Group team for over 5 years.  She runs Foundation Trainings, practice groups and is a mentor in the 6 month Peer Leadership Program.  Sharon lives and uses NVC every day in her personal life and is in her final stages of becoming an NVC Certified Trainer.

We may also have guest trainers in the Practice Group.

Prerequisite:

As we are doing small group work in breakout rooms, we want the peace of mind that everyone has previously learnt the same base skills that are in an NVC Foundation Training. We therefore request that each person in the Practice Group has attended the equivalent of a 2 Day NVC Foundation Training.  As part of joining us in the practice group, you may want to reinvigorate your basic NVC knowledge by

  • Reading Marshalls book Nonviolent Communication – A Language of Life.
  • Resitting a Foundation Training with Shari or another NVC Trainer
  • Watching NVC YouTube’s
  • Or attending advanced NVC trainings.

FAQs

Q: Can I still join if can’t remember the content of the NVC Foundation Training?
Yes.  We trust that what you learnt will come back to you once you come to the practice group.  However, to support those in your group, we request that you refresh your NVC skills by reviewing your workbook notes, reading the book “Nonviolent Communication, A Language of Life” by Dr Marshall Rosenberg, and we also suggest you resit a Foundation Training.

Q: Can I join if I’m struggling to use the principles of NVC in my everyday life?
Yes. Absolutely this is the purpose of the practice group. To support the embodiment of what you have learnt. To build capacity for everyday access to this consciousness.

Q: Do you record the sessions?
Yes. The teaching part of the session is recorded and may be available in the future to purchase as a separate compilation product.  However, the recordings are not provided to participants.

Information which is of a private nature (as distinct from general questions) will not be included in the recordings unless the person is the main demonstration for the activity (we will check with you first before recording you).

Q: If I buy a single session, can I then purchase the 3 month program?
Yes.  If you upgrade, we do not refund the single session previously purchased.

Q:  If I am in the 6 Month Peer Leadership Program (PLP), can I still attend the Practice Group?
Yes! Many people in the program enjoy the additional practice of NVC in the Practice Group.  It is included as a bonus offer when you join the Peer Leadership Program.  Also, from the time you register for the PLP you are welcome to commence coming to the Practice Group to keep NVC fresh in your life.

Q: What is the difference between the Practice Group and the 6 Month Peer Leadership Program?
The Peer Leadership Program is for people who are committed to fully embodying the skills and awareness of NVC.  It is a commitment, not just to yourself, but to support the others in the group.  It is also highly mentored for the period of the 6 months.  The Practice Group is a regular support group to keep NVC alive and learn and practice the skills of NVC.  The former is a deep committed immersion.  The latter is clarifying, growing and supportive.  The biggest difference is the depth of training and commitment. Some people also do not have the financial resources at this time to join the PLP, and the Practice Group is a wonderful alternative. If you are wanting to deeply integrate and build these skills in the shortest time possible, the Peer Leadership Program is the best program.

We look forward to welcoming you!!!
